On Monday 24 April 2017, Cumberland Lodge hosted a Cumberland Conversation called 'Children at War', with guest speaker Professor Martin Parsons, the wartime evacuation expert.

Martin spoke to our Principal, Ed Newell, about the impacts of war on children around the world, with a focus on the impacts of evacuation on children in World War II as well as present-day conflicts.

Members of the audience also asked questions and some shared their own personal experiences of evacuation.
