Cumberland Lodge offers its expertise and beautiful venue to facilitate interdisciplinary and inter-institutional conferences, run by and for postgraduates and early career researchers.
Fully mentored by Cumberland Lodge, enterprising Postgraduates and Early Career Researchers have the opportunity to deliver a well-crafted one-day conference and gain valuable experience in the processes of funding applications, administration, recruitment, networking, publicity, report-writing and press releases.
Cumberland Lodge will provide the use of a fully-equipped conference room seating up to 50 delegates, tea breaks and lunch for only £10 per delegate.
Delegates from all over the country will be able to meet in an accessible, neutral and dedicated environment for the exchange of ideas. Organisers are encouraged to invite their peers to present papers and one established speaker, with whom the day would culminate in a 6pm public lecture on the theme of the conference.

...conference applications will be measured according to their interdisciplinary and collaborative merits, and in particular those that seek to address issues of contemporary relevance. There are no restrictions on topics or disciplines. Whether you are a Zoologist, a Quantum Physicist or an Archaeologist, submit a proposal to our team (and feel free to ask us any questions before).

The deadline for the Spring 2012 call has now passed. We will announce a new call for proposals later in the year. Successful applicants should expect to hold their event between three and six months subsquent to the deadline.
