Supporting the Commonwealth and International Student Community
This pre-Christmas celebration is the longest established event at Cumberland Lodge with over 65 years of successful Christmas gatherings behind it. Students from other countries that are currently in Britain are welcome to have a taste of a typical British Christmas with a personal appearance by Father Christmas almost guaranteed.
In addition to the convivial atmosphere, a visit to Windsor Castle and St George's Chapel, the highlights of the 2013 celebration will include:
Adrian Snell
Adrian is a composer, performer and recording artist perhaps best known for his album, The Passion, recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and premiered on BBC Radio 1. Adrian now works primarily as a music therapist with children and adults with special needs in the UK and Albania. In the autumn will release a new album, Fierce Love, inspired by his work in music therapy.
Sabina Alkire
Sabina is the founder of the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI) at Oxford University which is pioneering new ways of understanding and responding to global poverty. Sabina has worked at the World Bank, United Nations and Harvard University, and is internationally known for her work as a development economist and for her commitment to the world’s poor.
