Alex Ramadan is listed as a guest speaker for one of our discussions but she does not work at Cumberland Lodge. We cannot share her contact details and it is not always possible for us to pass on contact enquiries to past speakers.
Alex Ramadan is a researcher in the department of physics at the University of Oxford. Her research is focussed on developing and understanding new semiconductors for photovoltaic devices (solar energy) and light-emitting diodes (LED). She has two master’s degrees and a PhD in physics from Imperial College London.
Alongside her research she has worked extensively to improve equity, diversity and inclusion within both her university and more widely in academia. She is a member of the Race Equality Task Force and an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Fellow at the University of Oxford. She is also a founder and co-organiser of the group Challenges and Changes in Physics, focussing on tackling the lack of diversity and inclusion in physics.
She’s particularly passionate about improving the representation of women and people of colour in physics.
