Dr Karen Wenell is Associate Professor in the Department of Theology and Religion at the University of Birmingham, where her research focuses on the ways that religion and religious resources address contemporary global challenges, especially around issues of sustainability, rights and equality. She has been a co-investigator and lead investigator on a diverse range of funded projects, looking at: Christmas and ethical consuming; Religious Education in the UK; and women and religion in humanitarian contexts.
