Karen Walker works at the Oxford University Careers Service, where she undertakes careers advisory work for students, research staff and alumni, through one-to-one meetings, career-related presentations and workshops. She has worked in both public and private sectors, undertaking a variety of finance and administration roles in diverse organisations ranging from a publishing company to a private airfield to a county council. She started working in higher education in 2010, in a career which has taken her from finance to scholarship administration to internships and finally to careers work. When she’s not working, she’s out walking with Truffle the dog, or doing something arty-crafty.
