Lisa Power MBE is a Trustee of Queer Britain, the project to found a museum (both digital and bricks and mortar) of LGBTQ life and history in the UK.
A lifelong social activist, she was one of the creators and founding members of Stonewall, the social justice and equality group. As Secretary-General of the International Lesbian and Gay Association, she was the first out LGBT person to speak on our rights at the UN in New York. She subsequently became Policy Director of the Terrence Higgins Trust, the UK's leading HIV and sexual health charity which she still advises in an honorary capacity.
The owner of a humble 2.1 in Medieval History, she is the author of “No Bath But Plenty Of Bubbles”, an oral history of the London Gay Liberation Front and is currently supporting Stonewall to create an archive at the Bishopsgate Institute for their 30thanniversary. She regularly speaks on LGBT historical topics and has curated a wide variety of LGBT historical and cultural events and conferences for the annual LGBT History Month.
