Margaret Webster is a professional copywriter who specialises in large, complex, high-stakes projects. She also teaches business writing, copywriting and creativity to professionals.

She writes reader-friendly books, reports, speeches, strategies and websites that work for both the target audience and the people who commissioned them. Her writing clients include AstraZeneca, Coty/Wella, Duchenne UK, HS2 Ltd, Leo Innovation Lab, London Stock Exchange, Macmillan Cancer Support, Network Rail, SouthWest Trains and SWIFT.

Margaret teaches professionals how to produce writing that their audiences will find relevant, clear and vivid. She has designed and delivered training for a wide range of companies, including the Alzheimer’s Society, Bank of America, Cardiff University, IKEA Foundation, Rathbones, Royal Society of Biology, Shearman & Sterling, and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. She is a trainer at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations where she teaches their copywriting, creativity and grammar courses.

Dr Steve Joy is Head of Researcher Development at the University of Cambridge and has ten years’ experience of working with PhD students and postdoctoral research staff. He has particular interests in self-leadership and career management. He has written about these issues for the Guardian, founded the Early Career Blog, and contributed to several books on writing successful job applications.

Steve's background is in German Studies, and he wrote his PhD on the fiction of Thomas Mann. He has five years' experience of supervising and lecturing, during which he also ran the Higher Education Academy-accredited Teaching Associates Programme.
