Professor Michael Rowe has been conducting policing research for 20 years, with a focus on diversity, reform, ethics and cultural and organisational change. Other recent work has addressed issues of conditional cautions, offender management programmes, and desistance schemes, the use of risk assessment in responding to domestic abuse, the conduct and management of sexual assault investigations, and the nature of Visible Policing.

He is Director of the Centre for Crime and Policing at Northumbria University and editor of the International Journal of Police Science and Management.
