William is listed as a guest speaker for one of our discussions but he does not work at Cumberland Lodge. We cannot share his contact details and it is not always possible for us to pass on contact enquiries to past speakers.

William is the Co-Director of The Commitment with Caplor Horizons. He had a career in private equity, combined increasingly with active roles in the education and environmental sectors. He has a lifelong passion for the natural world expressed seasonally through his love of leaf catching and butterflies.

For a number of years William worked with community-based conservation organisations around the world. Since 2018 he has focused on The Commitment, believing that accelerated government action on both biodiversity and climate change is essential for a healthy planet.

“We share an abundance of insects, rainforests, reptiles, caverns, birds, ice landscapes, mammals, ocean depths, open savannah, fish, mountains, rivers, trees. We have a ten thousand year history of music, agriculture, technology, painting, cities, sculpture, roads, the written word, architecture, inventions, discoveries. We have our ancestors, ourselves, our children, their children and theirs and theirs. We can do this.”
