Earlier this month we hosted the Statesmanship and Religious Freedom Seminar at Cumberland Lodge, organised in partnership with the Religious Freedom Institute and the Religious Liberty Initiative of Notre Dame University Law School.

The four-day programme was attended by UK and US-based university students and included sessions on religious freedom and human rights, the historical foundations of religious freedom in the UK, and Trans-Atlantic cooperation to address global persecution.

Speakers included Fiona Bruce MP, the Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief; Daniel Nadel, Director of the Office of International Religious Freedom at the US
State Department; Tom Farr, President of the Religious Freedom Institute; Stephanie Barclay, Associate Professor of Law and Director, Religious Liberty Initiative at Notre Dame Law School; and Cumberland Lodge Chief Executive Canon Dr Ed Newell.
