Cumberland Lodge has been awarded Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme by the Maidenhead & Windsor Business Awards.
Staff from Cumberland Lodge attended the award ceremony last Friday, 21 September with the Lodge having been nominated for three awards. It was an evening of success as we also placed as finalists in two other categories: Best Hospitality Business and Excellence in Customer Service.
The Best CSR Programme award, sponsored by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, asked that the winning organisation demonstrate that it has an effectively engaging CSR programme within the community of Maidenhead and Windsor as well as specific community initiatives and be able to illustrate the impact these have had on the local community.
Our success in this category was due to the collaborative work with local schools, such as The Langley Academy among others, and the public. Events such as our Family Storytelling Days, Cumberland Conversations, public tours and Heritage Open Days demonstrated commitment to the local community.
These are initiatives that are led by Emma Albery, our Friends, Alumni and Outreach Officer, and the Education Team with invaluable help from the hospitality team at Cumberland Lodge.
The Best Hospitality Business award and Excellence in Customer Service award recognise excellence in product or service delivery, customer service, employee engagement and community engagement in companies in the hospitality industry.
Cumberland Lodge Staff (L-R): Matthew Hancock (Sales & Marketing Manger), Merrill Ryan (General Manager), Sharon Alloway (Dining Room Supervisor), Daren Bowyer (Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Principal).
Our commitment to customer service, whether to new clients or visiting groups who have been staying with us regularly for decades, is something that Cumberland Lodge prides itself on. To be recognised externally for this dedication and commitment will help us to continue to strive for excellence.
It was fitting that Sharon Alloway was one of our staff members in attendance at the awards. Sharon has worked at Cumberland Lodge for 34 years and leaves us this Friday to start a new chapter. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Sharon for her many years of dedicated service.
