Aida is the CARA-nominated Cumberland Lodge Scholar for 2019 and is PhD Candidate in Pharmaceutics, Nasal Drug Delivery of Functionalized Nanoparticles. She is studying in the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, University of Bath; where she is also a demonstrator in pharmacy practice.

Aida has experience in both the academic and practicalities of pharmacy in Aleppo, Syria, as she has worked as a Medical Representative at Maatouk Drug Store MDS/Bayer Health Care, visiting clinics, hospitals and dispensaries, following up patient’s experiences and handling their objections, dealing with governmental hospitals and hospital pharmacies, and as a Lecturer Assistant in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Aleppo University/Ebla Private University EPU.

As a Lecturer Assistant, she taught a wide range of practical courses for pharmacy students: pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical technology, drug control, biopharmaceutics and clinical pharmacy, developing and implementing new methods of teaching as lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical demonstrations, field work and e-learning, developing new courses under professors’ supervision, assisting students with projects and assignments, supervising research activities, setting and marking examinations and having an advisory role.
