Jack joined us as a Cumberland Lodge Fellow in September 2017. Based at the University of Oxford, Jack’s DPhil work centres around biotechnology and plant science, with a particular focus on global food security.
Prior to this, Jack graduated from the University of Manchester with first-class honours in Biotechnology and Enterprise (BSc), before researching chronic respiratory diseases with Boehringer Ingelheim in Germany.
Jack is also a scientific consultant with the annual Google Science Fair, holds an editorial chair with The New Collection (a University of Oxford journal), and has authored various pieces on technological advances in bioscience and their ethical implications.
Jack’s work in Oxford is funded by a 1379 Society Fellowship from New College.
