Liisa is a PhD student at the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies. Her research interests focus around the issues of migration, identity, hybridity and cultural adaptation, and her doctoral study makes use of interdisciplinary mixed methods approach to uncover the factors affecting acculturation processes of Russian-speaking migrants living in Finland.

Liisa holds a Master of Research in East European Studies from UCL and a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Media and Communication Studies from University of Helsinki. She speaks seven languages. Before starting her doctorate, Liisa worked as a journalist with Reuters in London.
