Neofytos ('Neo') is a PhD researcher in the legal theory group within the Faculty of Law at the University of Glasgow.

His self-oriented research aims at piecing together a theory of legislation that can withstand the external pressures on legislatures - as exemplified by conditionality, a situation whereby states legislate specific measures under ultimatums. He hopes to find the root of the issue by investigating - inter alia - the rule of law, substantive democratic procedures and legitimacy. His thesis will contrast theoretical scholarship and legal sources with specific recent examples, such as the 2008 financial crisis and its aftermath.

Prior to his research, Neo was a Lecturer in Law at Maastricht University in The Netherlands. He was also admitted to the Athens Bar Association as a lawyer.

Neo has also been a professional cyclist and he remains active within the cycling community.
