Nick is a PhD student at the University of Reading; his research utilises behavioural, physiological and neuroscience techniques to explore the relationship between empathy and emotion regulation. A key question of Nick’s research is how emotion regulation abilities moderate the association between empathy and compassion/prosocial behaviours.

Prior to starting his PhD, Nick completed a BSc in Psychology and MSc in Psychological Research Methods at the University of Leicester. In his spare time he works with a local community charity in his hometown of Northampton, where he delivers music based workshops and other life enrichment focused activities.
