Nour was born and raised in Damascus, Syria where she received her BA degree in pharmacy and pharmaceutical chemistry in 2007. Inspired by the family of academics she grew up in, she obtained her MSc degree in pharmaceutical chemistry and quality control in 2013 from the University of Damascus where she also worked for four years as a teaching assistant. She is currently pursuing a PhD degree at the University of Portsmouth, and her project focuses on finding novel target receptors for anti-cancer therapeutics. Nour also holds an MBA degree from The Syrian Virtual University, and during her study she worked at Novartis Pharmaceuticals as a senior product specialist. Nour deeply believes that a positive change in the world can begin on a personal level. She used to be a volunteer in The Syrian Red Crescent where she took part in activities aiming at providing support for vulnerable individuals, as well as logistic and first aid services during the times of crisis.
