Sir George Hamilton was Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) from 2014 to 2019. He retired from policing in June 2019 after 34 years having served in Northern Ireland, England and Scotland. 

Since stepping down as Chief Constable, Sir George has also been appointed to the Board of Cooperation Ireland – a charity established as a result of the NI Peace Process to promote peace and reconciliation. He is also provides strategic advice to PWC and other organisations and governments on crisis and risk management, organisational change, governance and transformation. He is a Visiting Professor at Ulster University, Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Sir George holds a Bachelors degree in Politics and Economics and Masters in Business Administration. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors. His contribution to policing and community in Northern Ireland was recognised by the awarding of an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from Ulster University in 2019.
