Tessa is a researcher at Demos. She is interested in topics such as the influence of emotion in politics, polarisation and populism. She has a passion for democracy, specifically in relation to technology and the threats and opportunities it presents.

Prior to joining Demos, she worked at a campaign organisation for democratic reform, organised large scale philosophy festivals and did research for various non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and think tanks, on topics like discrimination among young people and devolution in the European Union.

She holds an MA in Legal and Political Theory from University College London (UCL).
