Cumberland Lodge is seeking to build stronger links with the local community by recruiting a team of enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers.  We require volunteers to engage with members of the public who are visiting our venue, often for the first time.  We are looking for volunteers to meet and greet visitors, give guided tours and act as advocates of our Friends of Cumberland Lodge scheme. We are holding an ‘Open House’ event on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th April 2018 where we will be open to the public.  We are looking for volunteers for this event and ongoing events throughout the year.

See our full calendar of events here.

We are looking for people with an interest in and a passion for the charitable work and cultural activities of Cumberland Lodge, its history and its future.  We will provide you with all the information and activities you need for each event: all we ask is that you share your enthusiasm with the visiting public.

Volunteers should have experience with dealing with the public, good interpersonal skills and a friendly approach.

Knowledge or an interest in history and fundraising is desirable.

  • Meet and greet visitors
  • Lead or assist with tours of the Lodge
  • Be present for the art exhibition open mornings
  • Engage with the public and promote the Friends of Cumberland Lodge membership scheme

Practical considerations

Cumberland Lodge is located rurally in Windsor Great Park and is not accessible by public transport, so access to a car or a lift is recommended unless you live very locally.

We will provide an induction and training, but we are unfortunately unable to cover any expenses.

Tea and coffee will be provided.

The minimum age to volunteer at Cumberland Lodge is 16.
