In 2017, we undertook a project to examine the pressing issue of modern slavery in the UK, and to bring together stakeholders in a safe and inclusive environment, to discuss ways of enhancing the policing and criminal justice response to it.

We convened a cross-sector conference in April 2017, involving police, non-governmental, academic, private sector and government representatives. In June 2017, we published a report that presented key findings and recommendations that emerged, and in October 2017, progress was reviewed in a seminar we convened at the House of Commons, chaired by Chief Constable Sara Thornton, then Chair of the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) and now the UK’s Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner.

Here are some of the resources we published in relation to this work.
