An exploration of the attractions of gang culture in the UK context, to identify best practice in early intervention and prevention strategies.

We took a multi-agency perspective, drawing on the wisdom and experience of police officers at all levels, students and academics, non-governmental organisations, media representatives, policymakers and community practitioners, to help improve understanding and inform policing responses.

This project involved 12 months of work, including initial interdisciplinary research to inform a briefing document, a residential conference at Cumberland Lodge in June 2019, a subsequent consultation to review and refine findings from the conference, and the publication of a final report at New Scotland Yard, London, in January 2020.
