In December 2019, we convened a youth symposium on 'Commonwealth Futures: Youth Perspectives', in partnership with the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), the Commonwealth Secretariat and the British Council.
With a particular focus on ICT and innovation, and the Rule of Law, it gave gave young people a platform to generate and present innovative ideas and recommendations for future projects across the Commonwealth, in response to the fact that more than 60% of Commonwealth citizens are now aged under 30. It also involved members of the Commonwealth Youth-led Taskforce who were preparing for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting that was due to take place in Rwanda in June 2020.
A summary report is available to download from this webpage. It summarises the impact and influence of the symposium gathering itself, and presents eight key findings and recommendations that emerged from discussions at the symposium, for ongoing consideration at an international level.
