Dr Rachel Cowen was part of a panel of three speakers who spoke to PhD students from universities across the UK about the research culture in the UK today.
She spoke for 15 minutes on 'Research Culture in the UK' today, including her own personal experiences as a woman in research.
About the speaker
Rachel is a Senior Lecturer in Manchester Medical School, co-founder of the Centre for Academic and Researcher Development and University of Manchester Lead for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. She has extensive cancer research and people and development expertise in higher education and in the corporate sector.
Rachel holds a senior fellowship with the Higher Education Academy and is accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management as a tutor, trainer and executive coach. She is passionate about creating a nurturing, inclusive work environment in which all staff and students are supported and rewarded and can reach their full potential.
