We’re hiring a Director of Philanthropy to oversee the successful creation and delivery of a new income generation strategy for the mission of Cumberland Lodge.
We’re entering a new strategic stage, aiming to develop 5,000 future leaders over the next five years, and to act as a hub for like-minded organisations across the globe.
Cumberland Lodge is a historic Grade II-listed building located in secluded and inspiring grounds in Windsor’s 5,000-acre Great Park. The Lodge was converted into residential conference accommodation in 1947. We use the profits from our social enterprise operations to fund our team of educational experts, who work tirelessly to design and deliver our ongoing programme of educational activities. Current areas of programmatic focus include: youth and democracy; the rule of law; freedom of religion and belief; and intergenerational dialogue.
The Director of Philanthropy will work closely with our new CEO, and Executive Leadership Team, to create and deliver a strategy to secure fundraising partnerships.
Focusing on Ultra High Net Worth Individuals and corporates, this role will lead relationship mapping, building, and the fundraising ask. It will convey the unique offering Cumberland Lodge can bring to potential donors and work towards multi-million-pound income levels to ensure the growth of the charity’s educational programme delivery and activity. This role line manages one staff member and has direct support from the CEO to achieve income generation growth. A key opportunity is our upcoming 80th anniversary in 2027.
The successful candidate will be able to evidence extensive high value fundraising experience, with notable examples of successfully securing six and seven-figure gifts from major donors and corporates.
This person will have proven experience of creating and leading a successful philanthropy fundraising strategy to achieve income and engagement growth of a multi-million-pound level. They will also be an experienced senior leader and ideally have knowledge of the education, youth, social impact, and social values sectors. They will champion an inclusive culture and align with Cumberland Lodge’s mission and values.
Salary: c. £70,000 per annum
