The Mews Conference Centre, Cumberland Lodge

Steeped in fascinating history, this former royal residence offers a truly distinctive setting for your event. Our conferencing facilities are available to book for conferences, retreats, professional development courses and special events, which all helps to support our charitable and educational work.

We combine the friendly, welcoming atmosphere of an English country house, and ample space for reflection, with all the facilities you need in a modern conference centre.

Hosting conferences and meetings has always been at the heart of what we do, and we offer a range of flexible spaces spread across three historic buildings, including large conference rooms with linked breakout rooms, elegant reception rooms, private meeting spaces, and an open-air woodland seminar space.

The majority of our conferencing facilities are housed in the Georgian Mews next to the main Lodge, which was once a royal stable block.

Flitcroft, our largest conference room, can accommodate up to 120 people, and it has two adjoining breakout rooms. We also offer two additional rooms in the Mews for breakout sessions or smaller conferences and meetings: Hodgson and Sandby.

We host events for almost 200 organisations every year, including organisations such as the Local Government Assocation, the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission and the Department of Health and Social Care, to the Tavistock Institute, Windsor Leadership, the The Institute of Ideas, and Mars UK.

The income from these bookings supports our work as a charity that empowers people, through dialogue and debate, to tackle the causes and effects of social division.

"Our members are delighted to return to the peace, comfort and hospitality of the Lodge. Despite often returning at a late hour, the staff are unfailingly cheerful and welcoming. The food is delicious and generous and on many days we enjoy a picnic lunch provided by the kitchen. We find Cumberland Lodge a perfect place to stay and wish we could spend more time there." - Sara Heaton, The Attingham Trust and Royal Collection Trust

"It was a most successful and positive gathering. We felt privileged to be staying at the Lodge in such glorious surroundings, and we are already looking forward to coming back next year." - Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne, Chair of the AMAR Founation and former Trade Envoy to Iraq, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan (leader of the Iraq Britain Business Council retreat we hosted in July 2016)

"Cumberland Lodge provides us with exactly the environment we need for our conferences and meetings, and we have been regular visitors for six years. The Lodge and its surroundings are tranquil, gracious and inspiring. The staff go out of their way to ensure that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. It is easily accessible making travel arrangements that much easier.
