We take safeguarding seriously at Cumberland Lodge. Our Board of Trustees approved a revised Safeguarding Policy on 1 July 2019, recognising the need to provide a safe and caring environment for all who work or stay here. This policy is reviewed annually and was last updated in April 2021. It will be next reviewed in full, by the Executive team and Board of Trustees, in spring 2021. It was adopted in accordance with statutory guidance and undertakes to:

  • Endorse and follow all national and local safeguarding legislation and procedures
  • Provide on-going safeguarding training for all relevant workers, and regularly review our operational guidelines
  • Ensure that our premises meet the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 and all other relevant legislation, and that they are welcoming and inclusive
  • Support the Safeguarding Coordinators in their work and in any action they may need to take in order to protect children and adults with care and support needs.

You can download a copy of our full Safeguarding Policy here and our one-page Safeguarding Policy Statement can be downloaded in PDF from the Frequently Asked Questions page in the Venue Hire section of this website.
