Cumberland Lodge is currently offering self-catering leisure breaks for small groups and families, and every booking supports our charitable work.
Groom's House at Cumberland Lodge, Windsor Great Park

Groom’s House, the beautiful 17th-century, self-contained house next to the Georgian Mews at Cumberland Lodge, is currently available to hire exclusively for private leisure breaks this spring and summer, on a self-catering basis, as well as our self-contained family flat next to the main Lodge.

This is a rare opportunity to enjoy the peaceful and secluded surroundings of the Lodge, set in hundreds of acres of landscaped parkland. Bookings for groups of up to six (or two households combined) are welcome.

Formerly the Principal's residence, Groom's House offers seven en-suite double bedrooms, a relaxing sitting room, two elegant dining rooms, and a fully fitted kitchen. There is complimentary WiFi and a private garden with barbecue.

£500 per night (incl VAT, minimum 2-night bookings)

The house is easily accessible from several major motorways (M25, M4, M3 and M40), via air from London Heathrow and Gatwick, and by train from several lines, with fast connections to London Waterloo, London Paddington and Reading.

Please note that we are unable to accommodate dogs, apart from trained assistance dogs.

Full refunds are available in the event of having to cancel a booking for reasons relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Family accommodation

We are also pleased to offer our comfortable, self-contained flat for self-catering breaks - ideal to use whilst visiting family and friends in the area, or for a secluded getaway or study break. Bookings from groups of up to six (or two households) are welcome.

Flat 14 has its own private entrance, close to the main Lodge and the Georgian Mews, with private parking and access to the grounds and Great Park beyond. It is a ground-floor flat, featuring a spacious master bedroom with two double beds, a small hallway, elegant family-sized bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen-diner, and a sitting room with wall-mounted television, audio system and desk space, as well as a double sofa-bed.

The adjoining double en-suite bedroom (Flat 14a) can be added to your booking if you require more space. Booked together, the two flats (with a joining door) sleep up to eight guests. There is also plenty of space for a travel cot or portable toddler bed in the main master bedroom.

Local attractions

There is free parking on site, and the house puts the whole of Windsor Great Park and its surrounding attractions on your doorstep. The Savill Garden, The Long Walk, the Deer Park, Guard's Polo Club and the Fox & Hounds gastro-pub are just short strolls away, and Virginia Water, Ascot Racecourse, Wentworth golf course, Runnymede Pleasure Ground, the Thames Path and Windsor Castle are also within easy reach.

For families, LEGOLAND, Coral Reef water world, The Lookout Discovery Centre and Swinley Forest are also nearby, along with all the attractions of Windsor and its surrounding villages.
