Join us on Tuesday 23 April, to hear Sir John Madejski, Honorary Vice-Chairman of Reading Football Club, in conversation with our Chief Operating Officer, Dr Daren Bowyer, about his life story and philanthropic work.
Brought up in the Thames Valley, Sir John made his mark in business as founder of Thames Valley Trader, which grew into the multinational brand, Auto Trader.
Today he combines his high-profile role in football with being a director of six different companies around the world. He is also a much-admired philanthropist.
A significant benefactor to the Royal Academy of Arts, Sir John also funded the Madejski Garden at the Victoria & Albert Museum, and a gallery at the Museum of Reading. In the world of education, he financed The John Madejski Academy in Reading and sat on the Board of Governors of Henley Business School for more than two decades.
This event is part of our regular series of Cumberland Conversations, held in The Mews Conference Centre at Cumberland Lodge.
