Carmen Re-imagined
Opera’s most dangerous love story – re-imagined for an intimate outdoor stage
Set against the beautiful backdrop of Cumberland Lodge, Rogue Opera presents a thrilling and intimate re-imagining of Bizet’s Carmen.
Performed by four professional opera singers and pianist, with Bizet’s famous arias sung in French and a new English script, this chamber production strips away the customary trappings of grand opera to reveal the raw drama at the heart of the story.
Seduction, obsession and freedom collide in one of opera’s most compelling tales, brought vividly to life in this powerful and accessible outdoor performance.
Arrive early and picnic in our gardens, or enjoy a delicious BBQ (food ticket must be booked in advance).
