Once home to royalty and statespeople, Cumberland Lodge has welcomed thinkers, leaders, and guests from around the world, and today opens its doors to those seeking a memorable bed and breakfast escape. Within historic façade, you’ll find comfortable guest bedrooms, warm hospitality, and a sense of calm that feels untouched by time. Wake in a place where history lingers in every corridor, enjoy breakfast in elegant surroundings, and spend your days exploring the same landscapes that were once Henry VIII’s hunting ground and have inspired visitors for generations. All you need to know
- Location: Cumberland Lodge is a historical building in private surroundings. To discover where we are and how to get to us please go to our location page
- Rooms: Allocated bedrooms will be in our Mews building adjacent to the Lodge. All our rooms are en-suite and include tea and coffee making facilities. Rooms do not have TVs, phones or room service
- Check-in: Check-in time is 2pm. Check-out time: 10am
- Complimentary Wi-Fi: Available in bedrooms and throughout Cumberland Lodge
- Our beautiful garden: Home to many wildlife and peaceful views of surrounding parkland
- Nearby: We encourage guests to allow time for a walk in Windsor Great Park, and a map with suggested walks is available from Reception
- Local attractions: The Savill Garden, Deer Park and the spectacular Valley Gardens are walkable from Cumberland Lodge – as is Windsor Castle for more energetic walkers (approx. 4 miles by footpath). Local attractions within a short drive include Windsor Castle, St George’s Chapel, Savill Garden, Valley Gardens, the Magna Carta and Royal Air Force memorials at Runnymede. Heathrow Airport is under 20 minutes’ drive
- Recreation facilities: As well as 5,000 acres of beautiful parkland on our doorstep, we have a tennis court and croquet set. Board games are also available in the Bar
- On-site food and drink: There are tea and coffee making facilities in your room. Other than breakfast, there are no in-house options for lunch, dinner or room service at the Lodge. There are plenty of nearby restaurants, ranging from pizzas to Michelin starred, that can be reached by car
- Breakfast: Breakfast is served from 8am – 9am in the main dining room
- Bar: Our bar, open at select times, offers an excellent selection of drinks that can be enjoyed in our communal areas, garden or in the comfort of your bedroom. We also have Cumberland Lodge honey and memorabilia available for purchase
- Parking: There is ample free parking directly outside the Lodge, including blue badge parking
- Accessibility: The building is wheelchair-accessible throughout, with a lift. There are also accessible bedrooms available upon request
- Lodge security: Cumberland Lodge is located in a safe, secluded environment. The site is covered by CCTV for security reasons, and we ask that guests keep their keycards on them at all times. Our external doors are locked, with access via electronic keycards only. Our bedrooms are lockable and equipped with safes for small personal items
- Windsor Great Park security: At the request of The Crown Estate, walking, running, or cycling in Windsor Great Park are not permitted after dark. If you go outside between dusk and dawn, please stay within the grounds of Cumberland Lodge. There is no lighting in the wider Great Park, and we cannot be responsible for your safety once you are outside of our boundaries
- Other information:
- Unfortunately, our accommodation is not suitable for children under the age of 16 years
- We can’t accommodate dogs or other pets, except for assistance dogs
- Not all the communal rooms in the main Lodge are accessible to guests, please check on arrival
- The Lodge is an educational charity, and all profits support the mission to develop the next generation of leaders
- There are groups using the Lodge for conferences and meetings. We ask guests to always be mindful and respect other groups.
