Hala is a Palestinian researcher and psychology lecturer with a background in clinical neuropsychiatry and a strong interest in how life experiences shape the mind, brain and wellbeing. She is currently pursuing a PhD at King’s College London, researching the impact of armed conflict on the cognitive and mental health of Palestinian children and adolescents. Her work is closely connected to the things she values most: community, faith, compassion and meaningful human connection, and her Palestinian and Muslim identity has shaped both her academic questions and her approach to the world. Outside research and teaching, she enjoys travelling, staying active and meaningful conversations over good coffee, and joins the retreat with an open mind, looking forward to new perspectives and a renewed sense of inspiration.
