John Lotherington joined our Board of Trustees in July 2019. He is Director of the 21st Century Trust in London, and a Program Associate at the Salzburg Global Seminar, where he formerly led the health and health care innovation programmes. 

He is a trustee of the Foundation for Democracy and Sustainable Development, which brings together civil society, government, business and academia to explore the relationship between sustainable development and democracy, and to contribute ideas for its adaptation and transformation.  John is also a Fellow of Goodenough College, London.

John began his career in history education and maintains an interest in that area. His publications, as an editor and author, include: The Communications RevolutionYears of Renewal: European History 1470 to 1600; The Seven Ages of Life; The Tudor Years; and introductions to The Prince and The Florentine Histories by Niccolò Machiavelli, The Book of the Courtier by Baldassare Castiglione, and the Divine Comedy by Dante.
