Jood W. Alharthi

Jood is an experienced practitioner in international law and international peacebuilding, with doctoral research exploring innovative peacebuilding approaches. She most recently served as a Political Affairs Officer in the Executive Office of the United Nations Secretary-General, in the Rule of Law Unit, supporting senior decision-makers on international peace and security across the MENA and Asia regions. She previously worked in the Policy and Mediation Division of the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, and earlier with the Secretary-General’s Peacebuilding Fund. Before joining the UN, she practised in London with a top-tier firm’s International Litigation Department and in the corporate departments of international commercial firms in London and Dubai, alongside experience at the California Central District Federal Court. She studied Pre-Law at UCL, holds an LLB from Swansea University and an LLM from SOAS.
