This webinar is the first in a four-part mini-series on issues of race and justice in policing, education, the culture sector and wider society, live-streamed on Wednesday 8 July 2020, at 11am. It is part of the regular series of Dialogue & Debate webinars from Cumberland Lodge.

The discussion is presented by our Chief Executive, Canon Dr Ed Newell, with guest panellists:

Dexter Dias QC, Human rights lawyer

Dr Suhraiya Jivraj - Reader in Law and Social Justice, University of Kent

Kerrin Wilson, Assistant Chief Constable for Lincolnshire

Debates on racial inequality, policing and Britain's colonial past have escalated during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Black Lives Matter movement has captured widespread support and triggered a broader debate on structural inequalities and racial discrimination. We discuss what Black Lives Matter means to our panellists, both personally and professionally, and whether this campaign could be a turning-point in the fight to combat racism, discrimination and injustice.
