Dialogue & Debate: Finding Common Values

A webinar featuring Lord Stephen Green and Professor Linda Yueh, recorded live at Cumberland Lodge on 5 March 2020

Resource type: Webinar

Our third monthly webinar in the Dialogue & Debate series explores some of the most significant recent developments in the way we live and organise our societies, and discusses lessons we can learn in terms of finding common values and intercultural connections.

Our guest contributors are:

  • Lord Green – former UK Trade & Investment Minister, former Group Chair of HSBC, Anglican priest, cross-bench peer, and author of books including The Human Odyssey: East, West and the Search for Universal Value
  • Professor Linda Yueh – Fellow in Economics at the University of Oxford, Adjunct Professor Economics at London Business School, a former Chief Business Correspondent at the BBC, and author of books including The Great Economists: How Their Ideas Can Help Us Today.

In The Human Odyssey (2019), Lord Green talks about how ‘the long human odyssey of self-discovery has reached a crucial stage’, where ‘everything we do affects everyone and everything else – and we know it’. This informs the discussion that takes place in this webinar.

This webinar is presented by our Chief Executive, Edmund Newell.
